Federal officials lifted a ground stop for flights bound for Denver International Airport on Saturday afternoon, though severe thunderstorms still caused hundreds of delayed and canceled flights.

The Federal Aviation Administration lifted the ground stop at 4 p.m. and said flights headed to DIA are delayed by an average of two hours.
Airlines canceled dozens and delayed hundreds of flights Saturday at DIA, including 91 flight cancellations and 708 flight delays as of 4:30 p.m., according to the flight tracking website FlightAware.
SkyWest reported 38 canceled flights and 121 delays, followed by 34 canceled flights and 265 delays on United Airlines and 14 cancellations and 211 delays on Southwest. Frontier Airlines also canceled five flights and delayed 49.

Storms are expected to continue until the evening, according to the National Weather Service.
