Four people were injured when a fight escalated into a shootout overnight in Denver’s Harvey Park neighborhood, police officials said Saturday.

The Denver Police Department first reported the shooting in the 2100 block of South Sheridan Boulevard at 1:09 a.m. and said one person was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.
Department officials later reported three more injured people, one of whom had a “minor” gunshot wound to the foot. The other two people drove themselves to a hospital, and additional information about their injuries was not available.

Investigators believe the incident started as an assault or fight that escalated into a shooting involving an unknown number of people, police said Saturday morning. Investigators detained multiple people and found four guns at the scene.
