A fatal motorcycle crash shut down northbound Santa Fe Drive in Sheridan for nearly four hours on Wednesday morning, according to the police department.

The motorcyclist crashed into the back of an Xcel Energy utility truck near where Santa Fe Drive connects to westbound U.S. 285, also known as Hampden Avenue, at 6:08 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Sheridan Police Department. Additional details on the events leading up to the crash were not available.

Police announced the road had reopened at 9:44 a.m. Wednesday.
The person killed in the crash will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
