Thermometers at Denver International Airport hit 100 degrees Friday afternoon, breaking the daily record high for Aug. 21 of 99 degrees last set in 2023.

DIA was not the only place to hit triple digits on Friday — weather sensors across the Front Range and Eastern Plains also logged scorching temperatures, including 100 in Aurora, Broomfield, Boulder and Pueblo; 101 in Loveland and Sedalia; 102 in La Junta; 103 in Granada; and 104 in Rocky Ford.

Although the daily high is expected to drop a few degrees this weekend, temperatures across metro Denver are expected to reach the mid-90s, according to forecasters.
