Aurora police were investigating a homicide on Sunday, after a man was found dead on a sidewalk in the city’s Dayton Triangle neighborhood, according to the department.

Officers responded to reports of an unresponsive man lying on a sidewalk near East Warren Avenue and South Galena Street shortly before 7:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department.
Investigators believe the man, an unidentified 49-year-old, had been shot hours earlier. He died before law enforcement arrived on scene, police said.
The man will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
As of Sunday afternoon, no suspects had been publicly identified or arrested in the shooting, which police are investigating as a homicide.
