A 48-year-old man accused of stabbing someone to death in Northglenn was arrested this weekend in southern Colorado, more than 200 miles away from the scene of the crime, police said.

Alexei Munive-Rodriguez was arrested in connection with the Northglenn homicide, according to a Sunday morning update from the police department. A news release from the police department did not specify the charges under investigation, and Munive-Rodriguez did not yet appear in court records on Sunday.
Northglenn officers responded to a stabbing in the 10500 block of Irma Drive shortly after 10 p.m. Friday, police said in the release. When they arrived, officers found one person had been stabbed to death.
The victim will be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
Investigators quickly identified Munive-Rodriguez as a suspect and issued a statewide alert to law enforcement agencies, police said in the release. A Lincoln County sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a car “associated with the Northglenn homicide investigation” at an unspecified time, but the driver fled, police said.
The driver crashed near Lamar, more than 200 miles southeast of Northglenn, and ran from the vehicle, police said.
Lamar police officers later found Munive-Rodriguez hiding in a field and arrested him, Northglenn police officials said on Sunday.
Law enforcement will transfer the man back to Adams County, where he will be held pending the ongoing investigation and criminal proceedings, police said.
