Westbound U.S. 36 reopened in Westminster after a fuel spill on the highway, fire officials said Saturday.

The Westminster Fire Department closed the highway between Pecos Street and Federal Boulevard at around 7:30 a.m. because of spilled diesel, the agency said on social media.

Colorado Department of Transportation officials reported the highway had reopened as of 2:22 p.m.
