In Broomfield, man dead after a shooting at police scene, department says

A man died after gunfire at a police scene in south Broomfield on Friday night, according to the Broomfield Police Department.

About 7:30 p.m., Broomfield police responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of Flint Way, according to the department on X. That location is a short distance north of 120th Avenue and west of Main Street.

“Shortly after their arrival, an officer-involved shooting occurred. No officers were injured,” the X post said. “The adult male suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

The investigation is “in its early stages,” said the post, which did not further describe what occurred during the incident.

The 17th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team has taken over the investigation, the post said.
