A Colorado State Patrol trooper was arrested Friday by the Loveland Police Department in connection to 2024 sexual assault allegations, according to officials.

Jeremiah Patterson, 34, is facing sexual assault and strangulation charges after a victim reported June 15 they had been sexually assaulted in 2024, according to a Loveland Police Department news release. Patterson was arrested by the department Friday night after investigators received information that suggested Patterson might go to Loveland to locate the victim, the release states.
Officers used investigative techniques, including Flock Safety cameras, to locate Patterson and then conduct a high-risk traffic stop around 8 p.m. near the 4600 block of Hahns Peak Drive, according to the press release and Larimer County jail records.
The victim and Patterson know each other and the alleged crimes happened while the trooper was off duty, also according to the release.
“I truly commend the tremendous courage of the victim to come forward and disclose this nearly two-year-old sexual assault allegation,” Loveland Police Chief Tim Doran said in the press release. “I praise our investigators for their thorough work, and I appreciate the District Attorney’s partnership, along with support from the Colorado State Patrol.”
Patterson was placed on paid administrative leave Friday, which is the department standard, the CSP said in an emailed statement. He has been employed by CSP since December 2020 and was stationed at the Colorado State Capitol, according to an emailed CSP release and statement.

“The Colorado State Patrol and its members are here to ensure the safety of all persons and to live our core values of honor, duty, and respect,” the CSP release stated. “We take these standards seriously and recognize that the success of our mission depends upon maintaining the trust and the safety of the public we serve.”
Patterson is facing charges of sexual assault, strongarm by force; second-degree assault, strangulation; and additional sentence enhancers, according to the LPD release. Patterson was released on a $25,000 bond, according to Larimer County Jail records.
His first appearance is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. June 30 in 8th Judicial District Court in Fort Collins.
