A wildfire sparked Sunday evening in southern Colorado, burning several homes in Pueblo County before crews wrestled the flames under control, according to law enforcement.

The Applewood fire forced residents of Colorado City’s Applewood Estates, a mobile home park along Interstate 25 roughly 25 miles south of Pueblo, to evacuate shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday, according to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office.
Less than an hour later, sheriff’s officials confirmed that several structures, including an unknown number of homes, had been burned by the fire. Officials did not specify the exact number of homes that burned.

Firefighters wrangled the wildfire by 11 p.m. Sunday, and all evacuations were lifted Monday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
