The eastbound lanes will open fully, while only one westbound lane is likely to open Tuesday night, the Glenwood Springs Police Department posted on Facebook.

The Paradise Fire started Tuesday afternoon, closing I-70 at mile marker 112 in South Canyon in Garfield County by 3:15 p.m. Police said it started near the westbound lanes, but didn’t name a cause.

The fire eventually reached eight to 10 acres before crews brought it under control. Shortly after 4 p.m., the department said it had reached 20 acres, before revising that estimate down.
