The Colorado Rockies’ push to revive enthusiasm for a final run of games in a less-than-stellar season doesn’t stop at the dugout with new pitcher Mason Adams – it’s reaching all the way to the kitchens at Coors Field, where crews are dishing up a new game-day snack that might be just weird enough to work.

Rockies fans, meet the buffalo chicken pizza doughnut.
The new dish expands on Coors Field’s previous adventures into eye-catching menu items (the 23-inch Glizzilla hot dog, anyone?) and savory donuts (the “regular” pizza doughnut, topped with garlic butter, mozzarella, pepperoni, marinara and pesto, is already available for purchase.)
This iteration features a plain doughnut topped with buffalo chicken and mozzarella then baked in a pizza oven, drizzled with buffalo sauce and ranch and finished with diced green onions.
The doughnut is for sale at Fanfare in section 327 through the rest of the season, Rockies officials announced this week.
Those not feeling brave enough to try the newest doughnut delicacy can enjoy the safe, reliably tasty ball park hot dogs; during games Monday through Thursday in September at Coors Field, you can buy one hot dog and get one free.
And if that’s not enough meat, there’s always the 9-9-9 challenge – nine flight-sized beers and nine mini hot dogs that must be finished before the end of the ninth inning … BYO antacids.
The Rockies’ next home game is Monday against the Baltimore Orioles.
