One person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries after an Aurora home caught fire early Saturday.
Firefighters responded to the home in the 20,000 block of East Vassar Avenue after receiving multiple 911 calls about 12:07 a.m., Samantha Hickerson, an Aurora Fire Rescue spokesperson, wrote in a release. When crews arrived, they found the fire was burning in the garage with a vehicle inside, and spreading to the home’s second level and attic.
Eighteen fire and emergency services units worked the scene, Hickerson said. Crews gained control of the fire in about 30 minutes.
