A two-alarm fire at an Aurora apartment building on Monday afternoon displaced 50 residents from 24 apartments and required two cats to be treated with oxygen.

Just one person was medically evaluated by paramedics but did not need to go to the hospital. Otherwise there were no injuries at the three-story building in the 16200 block of East Alameda Place, Aurora Fire Rescue officials wrote in an X post.

Firefighters could be seen fighting flames in the attic of the building at one point, according to videos posted on social media. They had the fire extinguished by late Monday afternoon.
The American Red Cross was called to assist families and pets living in the building. Firefighters will remain on the scene extinguishing hot spots.
