The crash happened near South Chambers Road and East Mainstreet at 1:14 p.m. Wednesday, according to South Metro Fire Rescue. By 2:45 p.m., the shelter-in-place order had been lifted, though officials noted that “a lingering gas smell may be present in the area.”

Chambers Road remained closed at that time between Mainstreet and Cosmopolitan Circle for the crash investigation, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office originally issued the order for a half-mile radius from 10759 Tomboy Drive, including parts of Newlin Crossing, Sierra Ridge and Meridian Village neighborhoods. Pine Grove Elementary School was also ordered to shelter in place and had a controlled release of students, South Metro officials said.
