Law enforcement officers were searching Tuesday for the driver in a hit-and-run crash that killed a motorcyclist north of Denver the night before, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

State troopers responded to the crash near Federal Boulevard and West 66th Avenue just after 9:15 p.m. Monday, according to a news release from the agency. When they arrived in Berkley, which sits between Denver and Westminster, troopers found a crashed motorcycle.
Two Denver men were on the motorcycle when it was hit by a white Ford F-150, state patrol officials said in the release. Paramedics took a 46-year-old man to the hospital with serious injuries, and a 38-year-old man died at the scene.

The pickup truck driver fled the scene of the crash, and investigators later found the vehicle abandoned near Decatur Street and West 67th Place, state patrol officials said. That’s less than half a mile from the crash site.

As of Tuesday morning, no suspects had been publicly identified or arrested.
