A 45-year-old Lakewood man killed in a shooting at a Green Mountain home on Tuesday may have been shot in self-defense, police officials said.

Lakewood Police Department officers responded to a home in the 1500 block of South Wright Street at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and found a man who had been shot, agency officials said in a news release Wednesday.
The man, identified as Mark Andrew Reins, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
“This shooting is currently being investigated as a possible self-defense incident,” department officials said in a news release. “The shooter in this case has been identified by police and is cooperating with the investigation. There is no threat to the public.”
