A 3-month-old baby died after an “incident” at a Colorado casino hotel on Saturday morning, Black Hawk police officials said.

Gilpin County and Black Hawk police and fire crews responded to a hotel room at the Ameristar casino resort, 111 Richman St., at 7 a.m. Saturday for an “incident involving an infant,” the Black Hawk Police Department said in a news release Tuesday.
First responders started providing aid and took the baby to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Black Hawk police requested help from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and are working with the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office to investigate the death, which department officials said was common practice in these types of cases.
