Tony Hawk dropped by a Denver park on Thursday and walked away a bit lighter.
The skating legend posted on social media that he had swung by the Highland neighborhood’s historic La Raza Park, at 1501 W. 38th Ave. in Denver, and hidden a used, signed skateboard. It’s not his first time doing it in general, but Denver fans got their own version as Hawk posted a video of himself standing next to the park’s placard and signing a board with a silver ink pen.

“Denver! I just left my used skateboard at La Raza Park. It just stopped raining so nobody was there. Ve a buscarlo [Spanish for “Go get it”], finders keepers,” Hawk wrote to his 9.8 million Instagram followers Thursday night.
The finder? Neighborhood resident Joseph Martinez, who reportedly ran out of his house and was the first one down at the park. The board, an Independent-brand deck, was hidden in a flower bed.

“Finders – Keepers,” Martinez, a local artist, wrote on Instagram, with a selfie showing him against the La Raza sign.
The lesson? Sometimes social media is worth following.
