Pedestrian killed in northeast Denver crash, police say

A pedestrian died after being hit by a car Saturday night near Denver International Airport, police said.

The Denver Police Department first posted about the crash near Tower Road and 69th Avenue at 11:17 p.m. Saturday. That intersection is in northeast Denver, roughly 3 miles from DIA.

Paramedics took the pedestrian to the hospital, where the pedestrian later died, police said. The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner will release the victim’s identity and cause of death at a later date.

Investigators believe the pedestrian was crossing the street outside of the crosswalk when the crash happened, according to the police department.
