One person was injured after an apartment in south Denver caught fire on Wednesday afternoon, fire officials said.

Denver Fire Department crews responded to the two-alarm fire at an apartment complex in the 8500 block of East Hampden Avenue, agency officials said at 3:22 p.m.
Firefighters were able to knock down the fire, but it spread throughout the building, department leaders said.

Denver Fire Department investigators also responded to the scene.
The cause of the fire and number of people displaced were not immediately available.
