Motorcyclist killed in wrong-way Commerce City crash, police say

A motorcyclist died Wednesday morning in a wrong-way crash on Colorado Boulevard in Commerce City, police said.

Investigators believe the motorcyclist was driving the wrong way on a Colorado Boulevard ramp near East 52nd Avenue when they were hit by a car, according to a 1:20 a.m. social media post from the Commerce City Police Department. The driver stayed on scene and was cooperating with investigators.

The crash killed the motorcyclist, who will be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.

Police said the ramp in the 5300 block of Colorado Boulevard was closed Wednesday morning for the crash cleanup and investigation. Drivers were asked to avoid the area.
