Eastbound Interstate 70 was closed near Georgetown for several hours Wednesday morning after a semitrailer caught fire, according to law enforcement.

As of 9:20 a.m., eastbound I-70 had reopened between Exit 228 for Georgetown and U.S. 40, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. The highway first closed at about 5:50 a.m. Wednesday.
Photos posted by the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office showed a commercial semitrailer on fire early Wednesday morning. No injuries were reported, and the fire was knocked down by 6:15 a.m., sheriff’s officials said.

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating the fire, Clear Creek sheriff’s officials said.
