One rafter was rescued by a nearby paddleboarder, and one managed to swim to shore. The third went missing in the water, according to a news release from Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
None of the three rafters was wearing a life jacket when the raft overturned at about 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, near the Cherry Creek swim beach, state wildlife officials said in the release.
South Metro Fire Rescue divers, West Metro Fire divers and state wildlife officers all searched the reservoir for the missing rafter and recovered the man’s body shortly after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, state wildlife officials said.
