Denver police arrested a man on suspicion of first-degree murder after he reported his wife’s death on Sunday morning.

Herman Antonio Sisneros, 41, called 911 at about 11:40 a.m. Sunday, saying only that he would provide more information when officers arrived at his home in the 1500 block of South Xavier Street.
Denver’s Support Team Assisted Response, or STAR, team went to conduct a welfare check and Sisneros told them his wife had died, according to a statement from the Denver Police Department.

Officers determined the death was suspicious and arrested Sisneros.
The medical examiner’s office is still investigating how the woman died. If they determine the death was a homicide, the district attorney’s office will decide whether to charge Sisneros.
