Arapahoe County sheriff’s deputies detained six people Sunday afternoon following gunfire at the swimming beach at Cherry Creek State Park.

Deputies and Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers responded to a report of multiple shots fired at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
No one reported any injuries.
Authorities closed the beach for investigation Sunday, with no timeline to reopen it.

The circumstances leading up to the incident aren’t yet clear, and as of 11:45 a.m. Monday, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office hadn’t announced whether any or all of the six people detained would face criminal charges.
