A pilot was airlifted to a Denver-area hospital with serious injuries after a small helicopter went down near Larkspur on Monday, sheriff’s officials said.

Douglas County deputies responded to the “downed aircraft” in the Cheyenne Drive area of Larkspur, near Perry Park, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Senior Communications Manager Nicole Fierro said shortly before 8:30 a.m. Monday.
Photos obtained by CBS News show a small, damaged helicopter in a grassy area near the Perry Park Country Club.
