Man fatally shot at Thornton house party, police say

A 44-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday morning outside of a house party in southeast Thornton, police said.

Thornton officers responded to the shooting in the 3600 block of East 91st Avenue shortly before 1:45 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the police department.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot outside of a home with a party taking place inside, police said. Paramedics took the man to the hospital, where he died. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, according to the agency.

Police said the man’s death is under investigation as a homicide. He will be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.

Information about the events leading up to the shooting was not available Sunday.
