A man died while in custody at the Downtown Detention Center on Sunday, the Denver Sheriff Department announced.
The man, who has not been identified, was found unresponsive in a housing unit at about 2 p.m. He was taken to the Denver Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to the agency’s news release.
The Denver Police Department is conducting an investigation into the man’s death, the Sheriff’s Department said.
