{"id":4219,"date":"2026-08-27T04:06:13","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T04:06:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coloradospringsmoverss.com\/?p=4219"},"modified":"2026-08-27T04:06:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T04:06:13","slug":"summit-county-sheriff-pauses-flock-safety-cameras-for-30-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coloradospringsmoverss.com\/?p=4219","title":{"rendered":"Summit County sheriff pauses Flock Safety cameras for 30 days"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div><strong>Getting your Trinity Audio player ready&#8230;<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>By <strong>Kyle McCabe<\/strong>, <em>Summit Daily<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Summit County Sheriff Jaime FitzSimons announced Wednesday, Aug. 26, that his office has paused its use of Flock Safety technology, deactivating its Flock license plate reader cameras for at least 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/coloradospringsmoverss.com\/?p=4217\">Denver Broncos fans, meet your meaty new game-day bite: the 2-foot-long \u2018Beast in a Blanket\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The decision comes after the Sheriff\u2019s Office met with county leaders on Tuesday, heard feedback from the community and had eight of its 30 automatic license plate reader cameras\u00a0cut down this month.<\/p>\n<p>The pause, effective Aug. 26, means the Flock cameras still standing in unincorporated Summit County will be turned off. Sheriff\u2019s Office deputies and detectives will not have access to the Flock system during the pause, meaning they cannot search for information from before the pause began.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/coloradospringsmoverss.com\/?p=4215\">Colorado\u2019s wolves stay in northwest part of the state, new map shows, even as pups begin to wander<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Sheriff\u2019s Office will conduct an \u201cextensive review\u201d of its policies and its relationship with Flock Safety, according to a news release.
