They also unveiled an OnlyMarms page, hosted on the adult site OnlyFans as a tongue-in-cheek effort to raise money to fund their research amid federal grant cuts.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Colorado\u2019s chonkiest critters are getting their own OnlyFans account<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"bquXVGsqyN\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"282\" loading=\"lazy\" marginheight=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" scrolling=\"no\" security=\"restricted\" src=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2026\/07\/29\/fat-marmot-week-onlyfans-colorado\/embed\/#?secret=bquXVGsqyN\" title=\"\u201cColorado\u2019s chonkiest critters are getting their own OnlyFans account\u201d \u2014 The Denver Post\" width=\"500\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The projects immediately went viral, due in no small part to how adorable the animals are. OnlyMarms, which accepts tips in exchange for G-rated footage of the rodents in the wild, has since raised $6,700 from supporters, said Katie Adler, a Ph.D candidate at the University of California, Los Angeles and one of the Marmot Project researchers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think people love to have something to root for, and with the current state of long-term funding, people have really rallied behind us,\u201d she said by email. \u201cPeople also just love cute, fat animals, and marmots really take the cake with that!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully marmot mania endures because the time has come to vote on &#8220;the madness,&#8221; a term that refers to a group of marmots. (Yes, really!)<\/p>\n<p>Fat Marmot Week kicks off Monday with its first round of bracket-style competition, followed by additional rounds on Wednesday and Friday. The winner will be announced Saturday. Fans can head to sites.google.com\/view\/fatmarmotweek to cast their votes; no registration required.<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The competition starts with eight contenders, but only one will be crowned the people\u2019s choice and Fat Marmot Week champion. Researchers will also unveil which marmot gained the most mass during its summer of grazing on grasses and wildflowers.<\/p>\n<p>Meet the marms below. And feel free to raise a toast with Denver Beer Co.&#8217;s limited release OnlyMarms Extra Thicc Double IPA. The brewery will donate $1 from every pint and crowler sold to the Marmot Project.<\/p>\n<h4>Stonehenge<\/h4>\n<p>Researchers call Stonehenge \u201cbig mama and queen of the Bench colony matriline.&#8221; She has no patience for bikers and isn\u2019t afraid to show it. She once reportedly yelled at some bikers 3,000 times in one hour. (Can you hear the high-pitched whistle?) He is a father to many of the litters over the past five years and watches carefully over his pups while they play. Every year, his first order of business is to travel across his territory and check in on his ladies.<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Dan\u2019s Hat<\/h4>\n<p>Dan\u2019s Hat is known as the cool aunt who\u2019s part of Stonehenge\u2019s matriline. Or at least she was until a badger ate all of her nieces and nephews. Matrilines form when adult females let their daughters stay in the social group instead of dispersing, according to the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory.<\/p>\n<h4>Open Kite<\/h4>\n<p>Open Kite is the \u201cgirl boss who runs the RMBL townsite,\u201d says the website. With no male to mate with, she was able to allocate all of her energy to self-maintenance. Researchers say they are proud of her mass gain, but that she\u2019s declined to weigh in for the contest this year. She can still win the people\u2019s vote, though.<\/p>\n<h4>Citroen<\/h4>\n<p>Citroen is a new addition to the marmot colony in Gothic, first spotted in late May of this year. As Open Kite\u2019s new man, Citroen has taken his role as stepdad to last year&#8217;s pups very seriously. Snaps for that dad bod!<\/p>\n<h4>1<\/h4>\n<p>One is one proud mama and extremely watchful of her babies. When not on the lookout, 1 enjoys landscaping and decorating her burrow which she shares with another mother, 2, according to her bio.<\/p>\n<h4>Dandelion<\/h4>\n<p>A shy queen and young mother of six pups, Dandelion can often be found soaking up some sun on her favorite rock. Researchers say she\u2019s kind enough to share her burrow with her sister, Paper Plane, but knows boundaries. Sometimes she\u2019ll kick out family when she needs more space.<\/p>\n<h4>G<\/h4>\n<p>G &#8212; full name Goblin &#8212; is known as a loud and proud marmot who is unafraid to fight, literally, for his ladies.
