{"id":3963,"date":"2026-08-20T21:05:51","date_gmt":"2026-08-20T21:05:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coloradospringsmoverss.com\/?p=3963"},"modified":"2026-08-20T21:05:51","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T21:05:51","slug":"sundance-bringing-all-star-film-fest-event-to-university-of-denver-ahead-of-colorado-debut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coloradospringsmoverss.com\/?p=3963","title":{"rendered":"Sundance bringing all-star film fest event to University of Denver ahead of Colorado debut"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div><strong>Getting your Trinity Audio player ready&#8230;<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Coloradans buzzing with anticipation for Boulder\u2019s first time hosting the Sundance Film Festival\u00a0can get a taste of what\u2019s in store at an upcoming event at the University of Denver featuring artists, writers, directors and producers from festivals past.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMostly True Stories From the Sundance Film Festival\u201d will explore the festival\u2019s story through the perspective of artists who have influenced and been influenced by the event, the Sundance Institute announced Thursday. <\/p>\n<p>The event will feature filmmaker and Sundance Institute board member Amy Redford (\u201cThe Guitar,\u201d \u201cWhat Comes Around\u201d); writer\/director Rian Johnson (\u201cKnives Out,\u201d \u201cStar Wars: The Last Jedi\u201d and \u201cBrick\u201d); writer\/director Dee Rees (\u201cMudbound,\u201d \u201cPariah\u201d); producer Christine Vachon (\u201cPast Lives,\u201d \u201cHedwig and the Angry Inch\u201d); and others. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe history of the Sundance Film Festival is really the history of the artists who\u2019ve participated over the decades, the films they\u2019ve debuted, the risks they\u2019ve taken and the experiences they\u2019ve shared with audiences,\u201d festival Director Eugene Hernandez said in a statement. <\/p>\n<p>The Sept. 8 event at DU\u2019s Newman Center for the Performing Arts will highlight \u201crarely heard\u201d stories from past festivals, Hernandez added. Tickets start at $29 for adults and $15 for students and are available online.<\/p>\n<p>Colorado\u2019s debut of the Sundance Film Festival is set for Jan. 21 to Jan. 31 and is expected to bring Hollywood icons, along with tens of thousands of attendees, to the foot of the Flatirons.
