{"id":3762,"date":"2026-08-15T04:05:25","date_gmt":"2026-08-15T04:05:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coloradospringsmoverss.com\/?p=3762"},"modified":"2026-08-15T04:05:25","modified_gmt":"2026-08-15T04:05:25","slug":"black-bear-makes-surprise-backyard-appearance-in-centennial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coloradospringsmoverss.com\/?p=3762","title":{"rendered":"Black bear makes surprise backyard appearance in Centennial"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div><strong>Getting your Trinity Audio player ready&#8230;<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>A Centennial residential neighborhood got a Friday morning visit from a common local visitor with four paws and little interest in property lines.<\/p>\n<p>A medium-sized black bear, estimated to weigh a couple hundred pounds, was spotted near a fence in a resident\u2019s backyard in the Willow Creek subdivision, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>The bear was first spotted around 8 a.m. near E. Mineral Drive and S. Ulster Street. Deputies responded to the area around 10:15 a.m. and believe the bear may have been in the area since early Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials are monitoring the bear and said it will likely move on its own.<\/p>\n<p>The sighting comes weeks after the Sheriff\u2019s Office reported seeing a black bear along the High Line Canal in late July.
