{"id":3727,"date":"2026-08-14T16:02:57","date_gmt":"2026-08-14T16:02:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coloradospringsmoverss.com\/?p=3727"},"modified":"2026-08-14T16:02:57","modified_gmt":"2026-08-14T16:02:57","slug":"colorado-corrections-officer-arrested-on-alleged-child-pornography-and-weapons-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coloradospringsmoverss.com\/?p=3727","title":{"rendered":"Colorado corrections officer arrested on alleged child pornography and weapons charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div><strong>Getting your Trinity Audio player ready&#8230;<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>A Colorado corrections officer is facing nine felony counts after a nearly yearlong investigation led to his arrest Thursday on allegations involving child pornography and weapons.<\/p>\n<p>Gage Vidal Montoya, 37, of Trinidad, was arrested following an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. <\/p>\n<p>Montoya\u2019s felonies include six counts of sexual exploitation of a child and three counts of possession of a dangerous weapon.<\/p>\n<p>The CBI said the investigation began in September 2025 after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators said they found no evidence suggesting Montoya engaged in the alleged criminal misconduct while working for the Colorado Department of Corrections.<\/p>\n<p>Montoya was immediately placed on administrative leave. CDOC\u2019s Office of the Inspector General assisted the CBI with the arrest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Department takes allegations of misconduct seriously.
