{"id":1160,"date":"2026-06-03T14:06:39","date_gmt":"2026-06-03T14:06:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coloradospringsmoverss.com\/?p=1160"},"modified":"2026-06-03T14:06:39","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T14:06:39","slug":"jury-convicts-thornton-youth-pastor-of-child-sex-assault","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coloradospringsmoverss.com\/?p=1160","title":{"rendered":"Jury convicts Thornton youth pastor of child sex assault"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div><strong>Getting your Trinity Audio player ready&#8230;<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>An Adams County jury convicted a Thornton youth pastor of child sex assault on Friday, according to the 17th Judicial District Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/coloradospringsmoverss.com\/?p=1159\">DOJ moves to join challenge of Colorado\u2019s visa process for crime victims<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Josh Lucero, 29, was arrested in March 2025 after Thornton police said he assaulted \u201cat least one child\u201d while he was the youth pastor at World Alive Church, where he oversaw teenagers between 13 and 18.<\/p>\n<p>According to a civil lawsuit filed in Adams County District Court, Lucero is the son of Word Alive\u2019s lead pastors and started grooming the victim when she was 15 years old and he was in his 20s.<\/p>\n<p>Lucero began assaulting her in 2018 and continued until 2021, all while he was a youth pastor, the lawsuit states.
