Three people were injured Thursday morning when a fire sparked in an east Westminster townhome, fire officials said.

Westminster Fire Department crews responded to a fire at a townhome in the 10000 block of Grove Street shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday, department spokesperson Emily Raisch said.
Three people escaped the home on their own, and paramedics took them to the hospital with unknown injuries, Raisch said. The fire sparked in the middle of a three-townhome block but did not spread to the other units.

“While our investigation has begun, we do not have a cause at this time,” she said.
Additional information about the fire, including the damage to the building, was not available on Thursday.
