An argument turned fatal early Tuesday morning when a man was shot and killed at an apartment complex in west Aurora, according to the police department.

Aurora officers responded to the shooting at an apartment in the 14100th block of East Colorado Drive at 1:23 a.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from the police department. That block is in the city’s Sable Ridge neighborhood.
When they arrived, officers found a 48-year-old man who had been shot several times, police said. The man was already dead when officers arrived and will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
Investigators believe a “verbal altercation” escalated into the shooting, police said.

As of Tuesday morning, no arrests had been made and no suspects had been publicly identified.
