Eastbound I-70 is closed “for the foreseeable future” and police are diverting traffic to Ward Road, department officials said in a post on X.

Officers responded to the crash at 2:40 a.m. between Ward Road and Kipling Street. An 18-year-old man was killed in the crash and three people were taken to the hospital with injuries that are serious but not believed to be life-threatening, police spokesperson Alex Rose said.

Drivers should plan to find an alternate route, Wheat Ridge police said. State traffic cameras shows heavy traffic near the crash closure at Kipling Street.
