Police arrest juvenile in fatal northeast Denver shooting

Denver police arrested a juvenile male in connection with a fatal shooting in northeast Denver, the agency said Friday.

The suspect is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder, police wrote in a social media post. Charges will be filed by the Denver District Attorney’s Office.

Police had responded to the overnight shooting on the 19000 block of E. 49th Avenue in northeast Denver shortly after midnight Thursday. One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

There was a second fatal shooting Thursday night, a short drive from East 49th Avenue. No suspect has yet been publicly identified.
