A stove fire burned through the roof of a Persian restaurant in Denver’s Congress Park neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon, Denver fire officials said.

Denver Fire Department crews responded to a commercial structure fire at Kabob House, 825 N. Colorado Blvd., at 4:31 p.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the roof, agency officials said in a news release.
Firefighters went in the kitchen and found the stove was on fire and had extended through the exhaust hood and into the roof.

Crews coordinated to extinguish both the kitchen and roof fires and “aggressively attacked” the flames, the fire department said.
Paramedics treated one restaurant employee for smoke inhalation.
Kabob House staff could not immediately be reached for comment. The restaurant was founded and is operated by siblings Reza and Nadia Ahmadi and features their grandmother’s recipes, according to its website.
