The 2026-27 calendar is set for the Colorado women’s basketball team.
On Thursday, coach JR Payne’s program announced its nonconference schedule, while the Big 12 released the dates for this year’s conference schedules for both men’s and women’s basketball.

The CU women begin their 11th season under Payne at home Nov. 4 against Morgan State. A home date against Fresno State follows Nov. 7 before the Buffaloes play their first road game at San Diego State on Nov. 11.
Overall, CU is set to host six home games during nonconference play, including matchups against Youngstown State (Nov. 14), Wyoming (Dec. 6), San Francisco (Dec. 12) and Utah State (Dec. 15).
During the three-week span between home games, CU will face a tough challenge at the Cancun Challenge beginning Nov. 26, with the Buffs playing Georgia, Oregon and Maryland Eastern Shore on consecutive days. CU has two other true road games in nonconference play, visiting New Mexico on Nov. 18 and Denver on Dec. 3. The Buffs also host Adams State for an exhibition game Oct. 27.
The CU women begin the 18-game Big 12 slate at Texas Tech on Dec. 20 before hosting consecutive home games against Arizona State (Dec. 30) and Baylor (Jan. 2).

The nonconference schedule for the CU men had already been released, as had the conference matchups, but Thursday’s announcement revealed a conference-opening date at Oklahoma State on Jan. 2. Like the women’s team, the CU men follows its Big 12 opener on the road with a pair of home games, hosting Iowa State on Jan. 5 and West Virginia on Jan. 9. CU doesn’t host either Arizona or Kansas this year, but the marquee Big 12 home games include a Jan. 16 date against Houston and a Feb. 2 matchup against Texas Tech.
The CU men open its 17th season under head coach Tad Boyle against Abilene Christian at the CU Events Center on Nov. 2.
The tipoff times and television information for both teams will be announced at a later date. The CU men’s and women’s teams are scheduled to open preseason practice Wednesday.
