One person was taken to the hospital after a semitrailer crashed and caught fire on eastbound Interstate 70 in Arapahoe County on Friday afternoon, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The crash happened at 2:39 p.m. on I-70 near mile 326 when the truck rolled off of the right shoulder and caught fire, Trooper Hunter Mathews said in a statement.
It’s not clear what caused the crash, but the fire was quickly extinguished, Mathews said. The driver and only occupant was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The highway closed between U.S. 40 and exit 328 for the I-70 south business loop, west of Deer Trail, for a little over an hour. The road reopened at 3:42 p.m., Mathews said.
