Evacuation orders have been lifted by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office after an unknown number of El Paso County homes were ordered to evacuate on Monday when a fire sparked near Colorado Springs.
Mandatory evacuations were issued for homes on Passing Sky Drive, and road closures were in effect for Bradley Road, Grinnell Boulevard and Goldfield Drive, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
El Paso County officials said the evacuations were sparked by a “rapidly growing fire,” but additional details about the fire were not available.
The Security Fire Department is the lead agency on the fire, county officials said.

Students who live in the area and who use Widefield School District 3 bus transportation will be returned to their schools, where parents can pick them up, according to the sheriff’s office.
