I-70 closed at Eisenhower Tunnel for crash, safety concerns

Interstate 70 was closed Monday morning at the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnel after a crash, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

As of 11:30 a.m., westbound I-70 was closed for a crash between Exit 216 for Loveland Pass and Colorado 9, west of Silver Plume, according to state transportation officials. The eastbound lanes were also closed in that area for safety concerns, according to the agency.

CDOT cameras in the area of the crash at that time showed traffic stalled for miles.
