About 12:40 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center received a call from someone who said they had found a man unconscious and injured near the Beaver Reservoir, which sits west of Colorado 72 and northwest of Ward, according to Carrie Haverfield, a Boulder County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson. The caller said they thought the man’s injuries could have been caused by an animal encounter, Haverfield said.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife was responding to the area for a reported bear attack, according to an agency social media post.
