Denver could see rounds of rain Thursday as scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected across the area through the afternoon and evening, bringing the potential for isolated flash flooding, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Localized rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches could trigger flash flooding, particularly in burn scars and areas that have received heavy rainfall in recent days. Storms also may produce frequent lightning, gusty winds, heavy rain and small hail.
The National Weather Service urged residents to stay weather-aware, especially if spending time outdoors.
Showers are likely between noon and 3 p.m., with a chance of a thunderstorm during that period. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to become more widespread after 3 p.m. Skies will be partly sunny with a high near 89 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
