Interstate 70 closed near Glenwood Springs for mudslides

Interstate 70 was shut down in both directions Monday night west of Glenwood Springs after a mudslide covered the highway, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

As of 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, I-70 remained closed between Exit 97 for Silt and Exit 105 for New Castle, according to state transportation officials.

Additional information about the closure and when the highway is expected to reopen was not available on Tuesday.
