A head-on crash on Interstate 70 near the Utah border killed at least one person Monday morning, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The crash involved a tan Subaru Outback and a white Ford F-150 just west of Loma at about 11:36 a.m. The Subaru caught fire afterward, according to a news release.
The driver of the Subaru died on the scene. At least five people, including two minors, were in the Ford. All five were taken to a local hospital. CSP did not have the extent of injuries for the people in the Ford.

The crash closed westbound I-70 near mile marker 4. The interstate was still closed as of 2:30 p.m. Monday.
The identity of the Subaru driver will be released by the Mesa County coroner once next of kin have been notified. CSP is still investigating the cause of the crash.
