Person in custody after stabbing reported on Pearl Street pedestrian mall in Boulder

A person is in custody after Boulder Police responded to a stabbing report on the Pearl Street pedestrian mall on Thursday morning.

The Boulder Police Department had asked people to avoid the 1300 block of Pearl Street while it investigated, according to an alert posted on X at 8:55 a.m. Police had cleared the scene as of 10:04 a.m., according to spokesperson Dionne Waugh. The Boulder County Historic Downtown Courthouse is in that block.

Information about the stabbing, including the severity of any injuries and the circumstances, was not immediately available. A news release with more information is expected later today, Waugh said.
