A man was fatally shot in northeast Denver overnight, according to the police department.

The Denver Police Department first posted about the shooting in the 15000 block of Olmstead Place at 1:49 a.m. Wednesday. That block sits in a northern section of the city’s Montbello neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they found one man who had been shot, police said. Paramedics took the man to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said in a 10:15 a.m. update. His death is under investigation as a homicide.

As of Wednesday afternoon, no suspects had been publicly identified or arrested.
The man killed will be identified by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner at a later date.
